How big is a 4 yard skip?
A 4 yard skip is approximately 4 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 2 feet high. It is the smallest size of skip that is commonly available for hire.
How big is a 6 yard skip?
A 6 yard skip is approximately 6 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 2 feet high. It is a medium-sized skip that is suitable for larger projects. NOTE: We do not currently offer 6 yard skips.
What size skip do I need?
The size of skip you need will depend on the amount of waste you have to dispose of. If you are unsure, it is always best to hire a larger skip than you think you need. Give us a call today and we can help you find the perfect skip size for your project.
Can you put black bags in a skip?
Yes, you can put black bags in a skip, as long as those skip are not filled with prohibited items. After collection we sort through the skip’s contents, so make sure you double check what you’re throwing away.
Can you put paint in a skip?
No, you cannot put paint in a skip. Paint is considered to be hazardous waste and must be disposed of separately.
Are there any additional skip hire costs that I should know about?
If you are placing your skip on public land, like the pavement or roadside, you will have to pay for a permit. Don’t worry though – we can help you sort this out and will include it in the quoted price for your skip.
Can you place a skip on the road?
Yes, you can put your skip on the roadside, as long as the size is allowed. You will also need to get a permit from your council to do this.
Do I need a permit to have a skip?
You will need a permit for your skip if you are placing it on public land, such as a pavement or roadside. If you are planning to keep your skip on private land, like your garden or driveway, you won’t need a permit.
Do you offer a wait and load service?
Yes, we offer a wait and load service. You’ll have 30 minutes to load the skip with your waste before we load it back onto its wagon and take it away. It’s a perfect solution for those with little space for a skip or if you need your waste taken away immediately. There will be an additional charge if it takes you more than 30 minutes to load the skip.
What if I’m not finished with my skip by pick-up day?
If you don’t think you’ll be finished with your skip by pick-up day, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do to help. If we have capacity we may be able to extend your hire duration, otherwise you may have to book in another skip.
What is the ETA on skip hire booking?
Once you hire your skip, it will be delivered at a time you choose – just let us know when you place your order and we’ll be there.
