HGV Workshop Manager
We have a growing fleet of artics and skip wagons, including our new HVO wagon! As a result, we are looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to lead our team of HGV Mechanics, and develop and action an effective inspection and maintenance schedule for our fleet.
The role
- develop and manage an effective and prioritised schedule for undertaking inspections, MOT prep, planned preventative maintenance and responsive repair of our fleet
- co-ordinate maintenance activity in conjunction with the Transport Manager and Planning team
- manage, develop and mentor the HGV Workshop Team ensuring
- investigate and diagnose faults and ensure effective diagnosis and subsequent rectification of defects by the HGV Workshop Team
- lead on stock control for the HGV Workshop
- develop and implement a system to ensure parts, materials and tools are stored safely and securely
What you need
- relevant qualification in managing HGV repair and maintenance, or significant compensating work experience
- skilled in the maintenance of a wide variety of vehicles, plant and machinery, including the safe use of appropriate tools and equipment
- a full, clean driving licence, with valid Category C licence
- excellent understanding of HGV service and maintenance requirements
- proficient in diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- able to lead the team in building and maintaining excellent working relationships with the wider team

The package
- Salary from £45k to £53k per annum DOE
- Use of company vehicle
- 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shifts 6am-4pm and 10am-8pm
- 1 in 2 Saturdays, 7am-12pm only paid extra
